This is our "fall" sunset.....blinking through the trees.
Rock mixing up more cement for basement wall today. He put in the kitchen skylight yesterday.
This is the biggest leaf I have seen here. We are still walking every morning, looking for deer. Saw one doe today.

4 trees in one !
A double tree.
Rock leading the way, we both carry "walking sticks".
A pretty fungus on dead trunk.
These weeds are blooming everywhere now.
We walk in the woods every morning now that it is a bit cooler. It takes about 45 min. to cover the area, even going a different route each time. Up and down hills, I am soaking wet by the time we get back to the cabin. Took some interesting shots today. I always follow Rock as he "clears" the way. (I do the same on the motorcycle)

There is still just a tinge of color on the leaves except for the dogwood-they are getting redder.

Sept. 22 WE went to the Saddle Club today just down the road from us. Some pretty horses, all ranking today. Could they ever lift those front legs us!
Even the "old guy" did his thing.
This flower, Mandeville, was at Dollywood. Camera did a good job! Want to plant a couple of these in Florida. They are climbers, like the yellow Alamanda, and smell so sweet.

We went to Dollywood this week. A beautiful, homey, down to earth place. Good food, beautiful flowers, extremely hospitable/pleasant staff. We didn't go on any rides! Several "shows"..........Saw the "little guy on the end" of the Statler Brothers. (they are planning a reunion this year). He gave a good show.
There is a water shortage in Tennessee also, but a couple of places did have water running. The streams are low.
This pig did not look real!! I wonder how long it took to roast. I had chicken for lunch!
We found this on our walk in the woods this morning. What is it?? I have never seen a dog skeleton, but maybe this is it? We found deer skulls a couple of years ago.

Bike Garage

Went riding today......beautiful out, cool. This is our bike garage when we are in Georgia. I haven't tried (nor want to) putting the bikes away. Rock's job!

Going to Dollywood , in Pigeon Forge, TN on Monday with friends. Should be fun.

Went for a long ride through the mountains today. This is Rock's favorite spot on top of Blood Mountain. The Appalachian Trail winds through here. We love riding in GA. Stopped and bought CA peaches at a veggie stand. The GA peaches and apples froze out this year.
We started walking the woods today, and this is the
first time I have spotted a turtle! Good exercise for my
back/legs.

The ground cover is turning rapidly here due to dry weather/short day combination. The acorns are dropping already, banging on the roof. We have 2 hickory trees in the back. Don't know what they are used for except wood.

Went to pick up my 2 pillows. NOT what I got! Lady was wrong.....I got the 3 pillow covers, throw and table runner made in Thailand! Beautiful....and so glad!! Will use in FL but need to stuff pillows!

A doe ran in front of our truck on main hiway. No deer for Ken yet. He is holding up pretty good so far physically. Mentally, he is his "old self".....(he is a Gemini, like me, so what can you expect?) He leaves Wed. for FL and will be back up for gun season in Oct.

This is a cemetery at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic
Church in Blairsville, GA. They are building a new
"clubhouse" with offices, etc.

Scene from top of mountain near us.
Doesn't this look funny to you? A dock,

no water and gas can!!!!

Ken/MJ arrived 4am Sat. Bow hunting season!! Is still warm here.....80's. Went to St. Francis Catholic Church Sat. for fall bazaar and silent auction! Found out today I get the embroidered Thailand pillows I bid on! They are marvllllllllous! We pick them up tomorrow. (the lady that called said they were "Egyptian".......now I am puzzled! Took a ride around area, up the mountains. Rock used his GPS and our elevation is 2114 ft.

This is where my garden grows in FL. In winter, the planter closest to house is shaded all day, so only the front one gets planted with veggies.
I love our magnolia tree in the front yard. Hurricane knocked out the top of the tree..........then followed us up to GA and did damage to a few trees there a couple of years ago.
Took Rock's bike to Gainesville, GA to pick up LRX. It's this color! I drove it home, and it pulls to the left. NOW WHAT is wrong?? Went to Sam's and the roadside stand for veggies. All ready for Ken and MJ's visit on Saturday. I'm learning more and more about the RIFE machine, and WHO to buy it from! Check it out. It works, even on kidney stones! and to lose weight! Now THAT is a goodie!

A couple of his toys.
Forms he is filling today. Will add windows later.
He dug this all out over time. Has a big chunk to do yet! Even put in new supports! What a guy.

This is the corner, he won't make that any higher.
Wed. 9/4/07 Today has been a great day! Our car is ready! Rock is mixing and pouring cement in basement for new walls where he has dug out. The floor is a bit more than a foot deeper than what is already in. WAS a 1/2 basement.....these builders up here never finish anything completely! Was lucky to have 1/2 put in....does make a great storage area though.
