This was a project Rock made last year just for fun! All freehand, of course! Landing and steps all done! Lower left are plants from Florida that I divided-will cover the area in a couple of years! Helps hold the clay bank together!
Rock put stone down, goes toward basement door. His playtoy sits there! A TRACTOR that he really has fun with and it has a wagon! (do men ever grow up!!) As you can see, the rain helps the clay slide!

Rock took one of the tree stumps, drilled a hole in the middle and put a birdbath on it. So natural, esp. next to the blue spruce we transplanted 3 yrs. ago. This is off the deck. I'm slowly planting perennials in the space! We got these yesterday at an apple place we go to often. They raise all their own apples, peaches, blueberries and some veggies. True Georgia peaches!! They melt in your mouth. Notice the Vadalia onions!! Sooooo good! Blueberries will be ready for "you pick" first of next month.
Rock has been busy for a few days making 3 landings off the deck to go down in back of cabin. There are 5 steps on the bottom. Will make it easier and keep the deck cleaner when it is rainy and muddy! RED MUD is not fun!!

Computer back up! a miracle, and don't ask!!!! Rock went to a Corvette show Sat. with a friend. About 100 people there, and the "prize" was a "crisp $100 bill!!" (that's how they do it in a burg in the mountains! The winner was determined by applause! Hard to believe and NOT like they do it at a "real show". haha This is a 2008, and no, Rock didn't buy it! The rear view. Has nice clean lines. Wouldn't it be prettier in a bright RED

They chew on the corner of the cabin, wreck the bird feeders, mess up everything on the porch. NOT friendly!

This tree is already cut, ready to fall but is balanced on 1 inch of uncut wood! It has quite a curve to it, leaning the wrong way for Rock! Wanted it to lay down in the drive, but too much weight leaning the other way. As you can see, we have a multitude of trees around us, some are dead but we are leaving them for the pair of pileated woodpeckers that visit daily. We have several other young Downy woodpeckers, black and white spotted, that fly close to us to feed on the suet. The nuthatches are funny, Rock calls them the "upside down" birds, because they go down a tree instead of up usually.

We went "junkin" Thursday with friends in NC. Always have a ball with them and find all kinds of "treasures"! lol This is just one of several places we explored, and can never tell what might be just around the corner! This is a toy isle, I don't spend any time there!

Worked outside all day today planting ground cover, 2 evergreen trees (small) and various flowers. Planted a tray of "starts" of Mexican Impatiens. Will get lots of starts from neighbor who has a giant forsythia bush. I hope I can grow those in filtered light. Have a couple of strawberries now so I guess they are going to survive here. Should multiply next year.


Here's Rock buzzing the tree that was posted earlier. He really loves cutting wood, whether it is "alive" or "dead"!! This is part of it! It's twice as long as this!
My orchids are slowly going to sleep! I have really enjoyed them, now, if I can just keep them alive to bloom again!!
